Vision & Values
At Old Buckenham High School (OBHS), everything we do is driven by a clear and powerful purpose. Using Simon Sinek’s Golden Circle as our foundation, we begin by asking: Why?
Why – Our Purpose
We believe in creating brilliant young people.
Our mission is to prepare our students to be valued members of society who, in turn, value the society around them. We aim to equip every young person with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to step into the future with purpose and pride.
We are driven by a commitment to ensure that every student has access to opportunities that may otherwise be out of reach – especially for those who need it most. We believe education should be a launchpad for success, no matter where you begin.
How – Our Values in Action
We live our vision through three core values that shape every aspect of life at OBHS:
- Community
We foster a deep sense of belonging and togetherness. Whether it’s the relationships built within our classrooms, our collaboration with families, or our place in the wider village of Old Buckenham, we believe in the strength of a connected, caring community. - Ambition
We encourage our students to dream big, aim high, and keep striving. With a growth mindset at the heart of our learning culture, we support pupils in discovering their passions, building resilience, and becoming the very best version of themselves. - Respect
We uphold high standards in all we do. From being polite and well-mannered to taking pride in our work and environment, we teach our students to respect themselves, one another, and the world around them.
What – The OBHS Experience
At Old Buckenham High School, our values are not just words on a wall – they’re the way we work and the way we grow. Through inspiring teaching, meaningful opportunities beyond the classroom, and a strong focus on both academic success and personal development, we are proud to nurture young people who are prepared for whatever lies ahead.
Together, we are building a school – and a future – to be proud of.
