"My father Owen James, now aged 95, was among the first pupils to attend the then Old Buckenham Area School in 1938 - he was 13. I am helping him write some articles for the Wymondham on-line magazine and this, his first piece, talks about the work he did at the school as an unpaid pupil gardener instead of attending classroom lessons!"
